In a world of modern technology and shortcuts, we at Rati Organics proudly preserve the ancient Deg-Bhapka method of rose water distillation. But what makes this traditional process so special?

What is Deg-Bhapka? Deg-Bhapka is a centuries-old hydro-distillation technique used in India and Persia. The name comes from 'Deg' (copper vessel) and 'Bhapka' (the receiver vessel). This time-honored method has been passed down through generations of master distillers.

The Sacred Process Hand-picked Damask roses are placed in a large copper vessel (Deg) with water. The vessel is sealed with clay and heated over a wood fire. As steam rises, it carries the precious rose essence through a bamboo pipe into the receiving vessel (Bhapka), which sits in cooling water. The result? Pure, unadulterated rose water with its natural therapeutic properties intact.

Why Copper Matters Copper vessels aren't just traditional—they're scientifically superior. Copper has natural antimicrobial properties and helps maintain the rose water's pH balance. It also ensures even heat distribution, preventing the delicate rose petals from burning.

The Difference You Can Feel Unlike industrial steam distillation, the Deg-Bhapka method is slow and gentle. This preserves the rose's volatile compounds, giving you a product with a more authentic fragrance and superior skin benefits. The low-temperature distillation ensures that heat-sensitive nutrients remain active.

When you choose traditionally distilled rose water, you're not just buying a product—you're supporting artisan communities, preserving cultural heritage, and giving your skin the pure essence it truly deserves.
